Apply For Gas Testing Exam - Eligibility Criteria

According to Indian Mines Regulation, a person working underground should have passed Gas Testing Exam. A person working underground should have knowledge about different gases available underground and also methods to tackle with gases. DGMS made this mandatory for working in underground mines. A person's eligibility for appearing for gas testing Exam is discussed below:

1. Application Form

A candidate applying for Gas Testing Exam should fill up the form accordingly. The form should be signed by the Underground Mine Manager or Principal of Institution.


2. Lamp Handling Certificate

lamp Handling Certificate should be issued by the Mine Manager or from VTC. This certificate should not exceed more than 6 months at the time of applying for the exam.

3. Character Certificate

This certificate should be issued by the Colliery Manager, Principal of Institution or Gazetted Officers in their respective formats.



4. Medical Certificate of Fitness

Medical Certificate to be issued by Mine Medical Officer or any Medical Officer holding an MBBS degree.



5.Poster Order

A twenty five rupees Indian Postal Order should be sent along with the application form. The IPO should not be more than one week before filling up the application form.

6. Certificate of Age

The candidate should be at least twenty years of age for appearing in Gas Testing Exam. As a proof of age SSC Admit Card can be submitted.
